WASHINGTON, DC – The Obesity Care Advocacy Network’s (OCAN) statement on the launch of the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program:
"Today, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the launch of the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program. OCAN applauds CMS’s monumental efforts, recognizing this as a long-awaited step in expanding access to evidence-based obesity care.
"With this shift, outdated policies no longer stand between patients and obesity treatment. By capping monthly out-of-pocket costs at $50 for eligible beneficiaries, the Bridge program is a significant move to align our federal policies with clinical reality.
"OCAN is fully committed to helping patients, providers, and pharmacists embrace this new program, ensuring it translates into better health for older Americans. We are here to help bridge the gap between policy and practice so every patient can easily access the care they need.
“We look forward to seeing this program change lives.”
